3 Tips to Stay Consistent
1. Find Your Real “Why”
Your reason why has to go deeper than surface level goals like “losing weight” or “toning up.” Those are outcomes, but they won’t carry you through the hard days.
Your real reason has meaning. It’s personal. Maybe it’s your family. Maybe it’s a life event that shifted how you view your health. Maybe it’s the standard you want to set for yourself and others.
That’s the reason you anchor yourself to.
For me, my “why” has evolved over the years. As a competitive athlete, my focus was performance, winning, improving, pushing limits. Now, being retired from competing, my focus has shifted.
My three boys and my family are my reason.
Yes, I want to stay fit so I can keep up with them (definitely that 😂), but more importantly, I want to lead by example. I want them to see what discipline, consistency, and focus look like in real life. I want a healthy lifestyle, training, looking after your body and mind, to be normal in our home.
That’s what drives me now.
Find your reason, and make it bigger than just aesthetics.
2. From Big Goals to Daily Actions
It’s important to have a big, long-term goal. Something that gives you direction and purpose.
But big goals alone aren’t enough.
You need to break them down into micro goals, small, realistic, actionable steps that you can hit consistently.
Think of it like this:
Telescope goal - where you want to be
Micro goals - how you get there, step by step
This is where real progress happens, through habit stacking and consistency over time.
Look at the athletes we have here at Intent Boxing. Many of them have big ambitions, titles, championships, reaching the top level.
But those outcomes are built through:
Daily discipline
Structured training
Consistent habits
We reverse engineer the journey. We focus on what needs to happen today, this week, this month, and we execute.
Same applies to you.
Focus less on the end result, and more on winning the day.
3. Use the Power of Community & Accountability
You’re not doing this alone.
One of the biggest advantages you have is the environment you’re in.
At Intent Boxing, you’re surrounded by people who are disciplined, driven, and focused. People who want to improve, not just for themselves, but who also want to see others succeed.
That matters.
Environment shapes:
How you think
What you believe
The actions you take
So use it.
Engage with the people around you
Ask questions
Lean on the coaches, we’re here to support your full journey, not just deliver sessions
Stay connected and involved
Whether it’s structuring your training week, improving your nutrition, or just staying motivated, we’ve got you.
The more you buy into the community, the easier consistency becomes.
Final Thought
Consistency isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, again and again, with purpose.
Know your why
Focus on small wins
Stay connected to the right environment
Do that, and results take care of themselves.
